Now Priyanka Gandhi has come to the rescue of brother in UP elections. Will the part time politics yield some benefits for Congress??
She has come to campaign like earlier times. If she joins Congress as politician, will that save the sinking ship of Congress??
Totally agree with Usha, she has no contribution to politics. So far she has been a part time politicians, para dropped at the occasions of elections. Well, I was surprised to see a TV News channel which debated on the fact that she has got a bright future in Congress or she can be the savior of Congress because of her resemblance to Indira Gandhi. Does that sound logical?? But in India, Politics runs on weird things only and you never know people might accept her as their leader because of her genes that make her resemble her Grandma.
At the grass roots level, it really does not matter whether Modi or Congress rule because a poor man wants food and security and both have not been able to provide the same. Modi can try his best but he cannot alleviate poverty or make India a power to match China or Russia. That is the bottom line. Same with Congress.

I have firm faith in Modi's ability in rising up to the expectations. of the people. It is not only I, every Indian has that faith on Modi. Only thing is one has to wait.
If Congress never succeeded in eradicating poverty in its 60 year rule , how cam Modi do it in one term and that is not the only thing he needs to set right either..But one can see that he is committed unlike the Congress party which was busy covering up its leaders many scams during half its rule ..
Unfortunately, before Modi took over, The Congress damaged the Country in all respects. Modi, after his arrival started to do repairing all the damages caused by the Congress. It is not an easy task for the BJP to repair all the damages done by the Congress overnight. Modi has to be given enough time.
Personality cult and family politics matter a lot in India. No surprise Priyanka Gandhi may considered a saviour. But there is nothing peculiar. In West Bengal, Jyoti Basu was saviour of CPI(M) for many decades. Samajvadi Party without Yadav family is zero. similarly BSP without Mayavati, TMC without Mamata Banerjee and so on.

Every political parties are desperate to win elections and will do every possible means to win an election. So we should not be surprised by Congress bringing in Priyanka for canvassing. Whether we think its silly or not, but the mass in India always seems to be interested in the celebrities that come canvassing only during election times.

I agree. In a bid to win in any election it is not uncommon to see Political parties using different tricks and props to lure the Voters.
What I want to drive home the point is,it is better to wait and watch
It is a good move by Congress and they should have done this far years back. She is more charismatic and could possible raise some more votes and mostly cut through votes of BSP and that should indirectly help out BJP but she is more capable as from her statements and from her campaigning trends in earlier seems obvious.
Yes, she definitely seems to be more capable and charismatic than her brother to many. But only time will tell her real capacity and contribution as a politician. Even though she might help Congress but I feel that her entry is really late. Congress has suffered damage and has lost its credibility. She might not be much help rather than dividing the votes in the coming election but might help Congress in long run. But that will work only if she comes in real politics. However her husband's record might go against her image.
From Nehru to Priyanka,all are corrupted due their Vote Bank Politics. Any Tom, Dick and Harry from Congress is unreliable. In the ensuing UP elections, Priyanka may fetch some seats due to her alliance with the Samajwadi Party., but I am sure she doesn't have the capacity to win the majority seats to become the ruling party of UP
