Sorry but the truth is if one third members decide to change sides they can do it. Suppose there is a party with 3 members one member can change his party and he is within right to do so. We need a restriction on number of parties like other countries and independent membership should go which is the biggest problem of Ganga Das and Yamuna Das  (Aya Ram Gaya Ram) Culture.

I agree with that view because there is no point in having too many small parties that do not make any difference.Here I feel vote share should be the basis because sometimes seats are lost by a margin of even 100 votes but in actuality both the parties are equally liked by the voters ..

Agreed. A member can change his party. My question  before changing the party is he not required to resign from the party from which he has been elected? Please clarify.

 

 

We have to understand that the MP's and MLA's are elected to make laws. They are not supposed to act as lobbysts for getting projects or solving problems of their constituencies which are the jobs of the local administration. We thus see them in a role which they are not elected for.and thus we pass the type of comments betraying emotional involvement. 

Right now in AP such case has come to light. A TDP candidate who was elected on TDP banner jumped in to TRS without resigning from TDP. The Congress party could get the information that the  TDP candidate without resigning jumped in to TRS through RTI. Now a criminal case has been registered against the TDP candidate. It is the violation of constitution.

MPs get a development fund MPLADS to the tune of Rs 5 crores per year , meant for the development of his or her constituency and they are supposed to use it for the betterment of their constituency along with the local administration ... We see how many of the top MPs not having used this fund for years together although they talk big about development...Rahul Gandhi stands first in that list of MPs !

Development funds rather being used to the development of the MPS. Many use for laying roads to their residences. Not to their constituencies.
