Yet, I feel I should pay my honour and homage to him. That's why I started this thread...as I believe am the no.1 fan of this super star of Boddunan family.
Yes, he has given new definitions of romance to Indian screen and of course, till now, he has the largest number of lady fans. People waited before his banglow for days to get a glance of this Emperor of Indian Cinema.
He still holds the record of 15 consecutive hits which made him first superstar of Indian screen. He made me a great lover of Bollywood and its old songs.
Today is Karkadaka Vavu, most auspicious day for souls according to we Malayalis' beliefs. Let him soul also rest in peace. He will live in the hearts of millions as long as world and this Bollywood exist.

Rajesh kanna is a wonderful actor. He is the only one who got super star award. Actually after listening the news of his death, i could not believe it until i seen him in the news. We lost a great diamond of bollywood heroes
When did he get this super star award ? do you have any details regarding the award as to who gave it to him etc...
I think he got it in early 70s if I remember right..but no one gave it, these are self acclaimed you know. :)
I means usha award means giving names as superstar as for amithab big b and shahrukh khan bollywood baadshah
Oh O;K , its the media which gives such titles, at least the titles given for Hindi stars is alright in that it carries some dignity, but Kannada stars are given titles like Challenging star,Romancing star,Power star ...like we had jumping jack Jeetendra :cheer:
Actually, such titles are awarded to film stars by magazines. They just start naming them as Super star, Mega star etc seeing their recent success
I agree. even the titles given to leaders and poets fall in this category. How Gandhi became mahatma and how Tagore became Gurudev. How Dara Singh became Ristam e Hind and how Lala Lajpat Rai became Lion of Punjab.
These titles are not official.
He is really a big superstar as he gives about 16 Super hit movies in between 4 years that is really amazing.This made him a big and first superstar of bollywood......
he started with Aradhana....in 1969 and successive 15 hits till 1972.

It was a good film with very fresh and young looking Babita and Rajesh Khanna and the music by Kalyanji Anandji was very pleasing ..

Yes it was kind of a double role, but the film initially dint do well except for the songs which were popular...have you seen the film? Rajeah khanna is quite raw and one can see that he has still not developed any of his famous mannerisms ;)

I guess so ! all his head shaking,eye closing and nodding style was apparently copied from Dev Anand, but he gave it his own touch and made it unique !

Yes they all had unique head shaking but I like the style of Dev Anand he was tremendous in Black and White movies. :)
