cleaniness is a must if you are nurturing fishes.The water of the tank need to be changed,feeding is also needed. While changing the water you need to be careful that fishes are not hurt.Its easy,you just need to be little careful.
In my hostel,my neighbor has a fish pot and he really take care of those fishes.
Why don't you think yourself about caging in a room?These animals and birds will also feel.
I love love birds. But I don't like them to see in cages.

But that's a shame for us whatever we like we try to keep it with us like slaves.I don't know if there is a law but there should be. :) As man cannot be slave similarly we should not be allowed to keep birds or animals. :(
