I think we have got to accept a very basic fact that all senior citizens don't belong to the same category with differnet needs with different means. Some spend sleepless nights with empty stomachs, some are diseased without even a word to narrate their sufferings.The government should address the needs of this group. An across-the -table tax cut is ridiculous to say the least.

BTW, I did not write this in reference to the birth reservations. Of course they need whatever best we can provide in each and every walk of life. They deserve the best of every thing. They deserve every social security our governments can provide them. They did best what they could. Now this is time of the society to give them back.

This budget is not useful to many people as this is favour for rich people but not for poor people.

Actually while there is no election round the corner, then the use budgets to increase the taxes and ED etc.

I agree that elderly need care of society. We owe to them for what they did in their formative years. But there is no point giving financial relief to the rich and super rich elderly by way of tax concession and other financial concessions. The elderly poor who are also physically weak need care. Law has already made it obligatory for their children to look after them. State should help the helpless and poor elderly. Why give relief to the rich industrialists, politicians and bureaucrats?
