Can children be allowed to choose their career independently? sometimes parent do object them in choosing their career.

    Yes, I believe that children should be allowed to choose their career independently. Imposing one's own choice by parents may lead to resistance and dissatisfaction.

    Not only allowed. Children must choose their career independently. Parents, teachers and counselors may help them in taking correct career decision.

    Yes, I agree with the thoughts of Pradeep and gulshan ji that children should be allowed to choose their career independently and parents and teachers should be around to help them in this regard...

    We must adopt this culture from west.There none of the parents pressurize their children to aim as per their wish.Focuss is always there on the all round development and there is scope in every field you think of.Even if a person is having interest in animals he can opt for career in those fields.Similarly any area whether it is sports, engineering,teaching,photography, administrative jobs,music or fashion designing, there is huge scope now a days.

    One can identify his skills and interest and can decide accordingly which area he can give his best efforts to get the maximum returns.These things are being illustrated through few movies like 3 Idiots and Taare Zamin Par.

    Well i think children need freedom in expressing there interests and views otherwise parents couldnt understand what they want to be. It is also good to give independence in choosing their career as they are the ones who have to carry the studies etc.

    By Children you mean which age group?I think after 18 they can decide with opinion of parents.

    It's true as far as the mature students are concerned. I have seen too many promising students' careers ruined under parental pressure!
