India is considered a poor country and we need to spend for giving basic amenities to people, give quality education and medical care. It is ironical that our resources are being diverted to such type of expenditure.

This is very costly faith in a poor country.

I don't think even Lord Venkateshwara would be very pleased with it!
As Chinmoy stated even Lord Venkateswara will not be happy with such activities. :(
This is the same story all over our holy places! Even if a part of it goes to the social causes India would be a different country!
This is an example of the paradox that is India!! While the living and breating poor go hungry and unclothed, the stone gods wallow in piles of gold and money!!

Same thing with Sai Baba of Shirdi, Maharahstra! He refused every penny that he was given by many accepting only so much that he required to live, and now he is made to sit on a throne of gold! He sure must be displeased about it!

Previously, kings and rich people use to donate such for exhibiting there pride or use to share their earning by donating to god..Now-a-days when lot of problems are their in the world and even tirumala is itself not having proper facilities...this type of investment is not good for anyone :( ..
Yes,it's a great paradox in India! When would you grow mature enough to see thing s in their true perspectives!
There can never be a solution to these sort of beliefs unless each one realize this personally.
