LONDON: God no longer has any place in theories on the creation of the Universe due to a series of developments in physics, British scientist Stephen Hawking said in extracts published Thursday from a new book.

In a hardening of the more accommodating position on religion that he took in his 1988 international best-seller " A Brief History of Time", Hawking said the Big Bang was merely the consequence of the law of gravity.

As a physicist of formidable reputation he's entitled to give his views. Thanks for providing this link.
Thanks for the news Sajeetharan..I think science and sprituality has their own different reasons on god and universe
There many theories of creation floating around and it's for us to accept the one we find acceptable.
Thanks for the information, sajee. But personallyi believe in god.
Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists
Ya logically if we think God wouldn't have created our universe for sure, because there can be no evidence for it..
Here is a classic case of age-old belief and faith against scientific quest for truth. It would go on and on eternally.
Consider the following verse from the Gita:

"Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures."
[Bhagavad Gita 7:20]
Thanks Sajeetharan for quoting these invaluable words which are very relevant in this context.
