The Beauty Pageants select Miss India, Miss Asia or Miss Universe etc on basis of so called vital statistics like measurement of thighs, breasts, buttocks. Also some question is asked to measure intellectual beauty.
I wonder if beauty can be measured by any one. Beauty is subjective. what appears beauty to one may not be so to another. So what is the relevance of organizing beauty pageants?

You are right when you say that beauty is subjective. The concepts of beauty are not constant, they differ from region to region or from community to community. eg. an aquiline nose considered beautiful in India is not considered so in Japan or China.
I can see one positive aspect of it that more and more women are getting inspired through these pageants by taking good care of themselves and by trying to become more competitive. The pageants have given the women to become more confident and sure of themselves in a positive manner!
