Hi Friends!

Tomorrow we are going to celebrate the birthday of one of the most celebrated and versatile geniuses of all times-Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore.A great poet,philosopher and humanist.On this occasion I quote one of his famous and immotal works from Geetanjali for which he was first Asian to be conferred Nobel in literature.

Where The Mind is Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
Give Me Strength
This is my prayer to thee, my lord---strike,
strike at the root of penury in my heart.
Give me the strength lightly to bear my joys and sorrows.
Give me the strength to make my love fruitful in service.
Give me the strength never to disown the poor
or bend my knees before insolent might.
Give me the strength to raise my mind high above daily trifles.
And give me the strength to surrender my strength to thy will with love.

Here I pay my profound respects to this IMMORTAL GENIUS!

Gurudev was the greates poet of recent times. He was aptly rewarded with Nobel prize and knighthood. He was so sensitive to national cause that he returned knigfhthood after Jalianwala massacre. He made an important statement- India thinks tomarrow what Bengal thinks today.

@Rakesh

Sorry to learn that you needed surgery but at the same time feel relieved that you are fine after it.Take care and all the very best!

@Gulshan

You have very aptly touched some aspects of the life of this towering genius.By the way I would like to make small correction.The saying "What Bengal thinks today India thinks tomorrow" was made by another Marathi stalwart Gopal Krishna Gokhale.
