Government projects have deadline but only in papers. Here in my city sewarage project is under construction, when it will complete only God knows.
The entire city of Bangalore is paralyzed by the ever going Metro work project which is running so late. Every place s dug and left. Traffic is a chaos and the Government is sleeping over the plan. The city has become a hell. Trees have been cut and the construction is just going on.....
Why not government sleep, these projects are hen which are laying gold eggs, they are enjoying it.
And not to forget the political blame game..center blaming state and state blaming center. They gain political brownies and we face the consequences of delayed projects. And to make situation worst, some language rivalries do pop up just before election...breaking the signs in Hindi and so on. Development is always at back foot and politics and division politics gets the limelight.
Language had never been an issue in Karnataka earlier because I remember during my college days there would be sign boards in English, Kannada and at central govt offices and state govt offices in even Hindi. But as time went by we got to see Malayalam entering the south ,try try to wipe out Kannada, even managing to take over Kasargod belonging to Karnataka, Telugu doing the same in Kolar, Marathi doing the same in Belgaum and Tamil taking over the whole of Bangalore ..it was never the other way round where Kannada went beyond it's borders. In fact all the outsiders expected the locals to learn theirt language rather than learn the state kanguage where they have come to work and live in. So now Kannadigas have started fighting back especially when the metro station carried sign posts in English and Hindi , leaving out Kannada , they went all out..can anyone blame them? This is one issue where all political parties are un ited now.
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
Can't agree with you guys who are saying deadlines increase efficiency. Normally deadlines are used to push to the limit and extract whatever his or her capacity. But always deadlines are not bad it will allow the managers to find the lazyones.

Exactly ! When there is no quality , efficiency nor any inclination to deliver , deadlines do work. For a committed person deadlines don't matter because he or she would take care to finish the job on time but for others it is the only thing that works.
