I cannot think of another Chief Minister as corrupt or self centered as the one who is ruling our state Karnataka. On the one hand farmers have been committing suicide because of drought and  because they are unable to repay their loans and Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah  periodically pays lip service, that too when he is reminded by the media and blames PM Modi for this state of affairs within his state . Many of the state government daily wage earners have not been paid for months , some for almost a year. And what does Siddaramaiah do ?   sends his MLAs on foreign tours and along with other Minsisters and MLAs demand free club membership in all the private clubs, has plans of building a palace for himself costing 25 crore rupees..

And as if that is not enough now the latest in his line of misadventures is a plan to allot nearly 2400 BDA house sites to politicians ...Do we really deserve such leaders ? If only we could send leaders like him on a one way ticket to mars..

Very true. AP Government s spending millions on building a new capital Amaravati. There are several allegations that the land acquired for building the new capital is being grabbed by force. Naidu says all the farmers gave away the land voluntarily. The center also provided all the funds required to build the new capital. The opposition is not ready to buy this story. Opposition questions, though there is a right to stay in Hyderabad for 10 years, why Chandrababu is in a hurry ? They also allege that the CM of AP is encouraging private Realtors..

A new capital is a must for a new state. nothing wrong in it if it is done fairly and honestly. To say that farmers are giving land willingly is to be counter checked whether they are getting adequate compensation. I recall a very good policy has been adopted by AP in this. To smell corruption in every act of govt is also not fair. at this rate no development can take place. Check but do not despair and decry all the time.

Many farmers are not willing to give their land for Amaravati, the new capital of AP. even they were  assured of good compensation. Because some lands are very fertile which yield 3 crops an year. It is also true that some farmers are willingly gave their land. AP government also assured that those who give their land will be given in a place where the farmers opt. But with all said and and done High court has asked the AP government to explain Land pooling policy. It has to be seen what the High court decides.

It is puerile not to call this colossal and immoral act as not corrupt.Whose money is he frittering away to gratify his grandiose desires and dreams?

Burdening  the common man and the exchequer  for  his unjustified and purposeless foreign tours,  Sddaramaih's actions are not Justified. Especially in view of rampant  Farmer suicides in Karnataka and extreme famine conditions.

Once they are elected and power comes into their hands the money becomes theirs ..This is how things have been functioning all along but now with media coverage we come to know about what is happening with our money and how it is being swallowed by these leaders , who are also supported in all their misdeeds by their top leadership !

I agree. When you elect a government, you give them authority to use public money in the best interest of state as perceived by them. There is audit and and administrative mechanism to see the propriety and legitimacy of expenditure.  Unless money is used clandestinely by fudging public accounts for creating personal assets as distinguished from public assets, corruption cannot be alleged.

Double speak of Politicians.. During his regime as the CM of undivided AP in 1994, 25000 farmers committed suicide. During that period Chandrababu said " Farming is waste of time."Now he is shedding his crocodile tears and blaming the present TRS Govenment for farmer suicides.

It is equally and if not more puerile to leave it to audit and so-called administrative mechanisms to determine corrupt acts. What about Mayawati's megalomaniacal acts of installing innumberable statues of herself and elephants - symbol of her party!!!

Mayawati is the outcome of a class conflict raging from centuries in this country. The installing of statues of elephants and a couple of her own along with Kashiram's statue is to be seen as expression of identity politics. It is a manner of establishing or registering a place in society which was denied till date. When statues of upper caste leaders like Netaji, Nehru, Gandhi are installed all over the country at state expense it is considered normal but when a Dalit's statue is installed it is usually seen as waste of money. Till caste based discrimination is there such demonstrations of identity politics will occur. Incidentally the park at NOIDA is today a beautiful  picnic cum tourist site and Dalits also are proud to see their icons standing tall. Let us not grudge them their due after crushing them for centuries.

Very funny, indeed! We have made a fetish of thousand years' oppression theory to justify any act however irrational and reprehensible it might be, on the part of these so-called self-serving Dalit leaders!! Shocking too!!

What is shocking is the utter lack of retribution for the oppressors whose wasteful acts over the centuries are overlooked by present day self styled critics of Dalit leaders simply because they give voice to the downtrodden to the discomfort of the former. Wish it were so funny !!

Whether it is a Dalit leader or someone belonging to the  upper caste, corruption is the same as far as people are concerned . Our CM too is from the Dalit or Backward caste. We see them getting their due with  reservations even in political posts like Mayor, Corporator etc In my own city a lady who can barely speak has been made a corporator and deputy mayor because both are reserved category for OBC and ladies . What kind of justification is that ?

So centuries of wrongs would be righted by centuries of wrongs? A very erudite piece of cerebral and celebrated thought! ! The dalit people have seen and known tallest leaders amongst them who never got infected by this incurable megalomania of giving stony forms in their lifetimes. And the one who set in this trend was Karunanidhi and look at his plight today and Mayawati ?

Her own people have booted her out of power and let us see how long her political wilderness lasts. Some people could be extraordinarily naive and clever by half in obfuscating history to preach their undigested line of thought. The same set of people who lambast RSS and BJP for evoking historical wrongs done on Hindus by Muslims would strangely take refuge behind history. My simple point was why public money was put to Tuglakhi uses to promote someone's fad and whims but the anger was the answer. All sound and fury!!!!

Yes agitation and forming pressure groups. Politics in our country has now got reduced to this stae if one wants justice. The politicians have turned deaf and blind. They only see foreign trips, bigger bungalows, and financial security for seven generations to follow them. all at state expense of course. So till people do not agitate they will not get anything.

It is India dear, no work till agitation is working culture of it. Government know well that demands of public geniune, but government never wake up till the agitation.

Government without breaking the silence and remain unmoved till the agitation is an example of bad governance.  In the mean time anti social elements enter the agitations and damage both the people's and governments property. Some times innocents may lose their lives. Who is responsible for this ? who will bear this huge loss, which could have been avoided by timely action by the government.

The statues of Congress leaders- mostly of one family have been erected in numerous parts of India and also hospitals. institutions named after them. Mayavati had to erect statues of Dalit icons in short span of her rule. There appears nothing wrong. Moreover, it appears that she is the only hope for Uttar Pradesh in existing conditions. I hope minorities and Dalits would be safer in her rule.

Mayawati is as corrupt as any of the other leaders and if she gets elected , which is highly unlikely , what guarantee is there that she would be better than the present lot ?As of now  she has several cases pending against her filed by the CBI.

@Usha Those who looking to Mayawati and her ilk for deliveraence of Dalits in India are hoping in despair and need not be taken seriously. In fact these dalit leaders are a hopelessly divided lot and what is dividing them is their personal interest not that of the community. In fact the so-called identity politics which nothing but identification of dalit.causes through corrupt dalit leaders is a bane for this community.Swami Vivekananda to my mind was the first iconic figure who lent voice to the downtodden which nany others like Gandhiji,Tagore. In Independent India Baba Saheb Ambedkar who rose to stellar height for remarkable contribution to the making of modern India and super-efficient minister Jagjivan Ram never thought of erecting their statues and here a member claims Mayawati in her short(!!) was racing against to beautify parks with her statues!!!

@ Chinmoy, Mayawati, Mulayam Singh and his son and Lalu have all been painted with the same brush, one cannot distinguish between any of them. Each one is out to make his position prominent and they have hangers on like Azam Khan , who is another extremely manipulative politician ..Honestly each state in our country has its own brand of jokers and non performers who manage to stay in lime light and wield power. They are shameless to the core and would go the list inch to hold on to their position and government houses !
