Very informative and thought provoking matter. These genuine figures must lead our planners to target development resources more effectively.

No doubt the information is an eye opener but it also brings up the issue of misrule by the previous government and to what extent ??? It shows that they have done absolutely nothing for the people, rather played on their sentiments and manipulate them to stay on in power.

... and grabbing the allocated developmental funds which go directly in to Swiss Banks. Ir's not the dearth of funds, it's the lack of sincerity to develop the nation. Previous governments hoodwinked the nation and they "Developed " themselves.

Now these states should wake up and forget infighting and clashes with central government for the sake of dirty politics. Chattisgarh has some valid reasons due to smuggling in the name of Mao activities though.

Good relations with center always helps in promoting the development. Whereas conflicts stall the development of the states.

That's what is happening in all these states since none of these feel comfortable with national Parties. (Exception Chattisgarh)

You have forgotten. TDP being a regional party, BJP recognized as its ally. In the last elections they were teamed together. And BJP I should say is helping a lot in developmental activities in the newly born AP. but not with Telengana.

I feel that alliances and ones own choice of parties should not come in the way of development ...Center and states should allocate funds where it is essential. The problem with our country is that dirty politics comes in the way of fair play and development and funding where it is needed, thats why we have such disparity between states..

The problem lies in Abusing the funds allocated to develop the respective states. In many states in the past the developmental funds are misused. And in  most cases these funds were used for the development of the concerned people's representatives. A classic case of fence devouring the crop.

Most of the funds allocated for public welfare goes to pockets of politicians, mediators and government employs. Unless the corruption is uprooted there is no chance India will overcome poverty.

Very true Sunil. Corruption is the plague that devastates the nation.

It is not just corruption but also communalism and generally Indian masses are backward in their thinking, unless there is mass movement and people are ready to work hard and better their lot , no matter what the government does bears little result. Giving out doles only makes them even more lazy...every kind of reservation takes the country backwards ..A poverty ridden, backward population is ideal for the politicians since they can easily be manipulated ..

Politicians look for opportunities like a jackal that looks for a corpse in the grave yard to create opportunities for their own development. If development is the aim of this country or to that matter any country these jackals should be kept at bay and the government and the people work in tandem to create opportunities for the development of the nation.

Name of Odisha is anticipated, but the names of UP and Rajastan surprises me.

The study used a special system Multidimensional Poverty index which enables the team all the possible factors that contribute to poverty.

The way opposition reacted about yoga day was really so funny. I  could not stop lughing hearing Lalus satement today.

It's expected from the opposition parties, who always evince interest in magnifying the holes. They are the destructive forces and they aim at stalling the development.

Lalu is becoming more of a joker by the day, his interview clearly showed that...Thankfully Karnataka CM has gone all out to promote Yoga , at least he has some sense and knows his priorities looks like !

Now many of the states CMs are aware of the importance of Yoga courtesy Modi's initiation.

I was hearing to a leading activist on Muslim issues on Zee TV  Jafaryab Jilani also a member of the executive committee of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, and a leading personality on Muslim personal law and its issues. He said "This may be a day for celebration for you (he was addressing to TV Anchor and all other panelists) but it's the day of SORROW for us hearing OM on Rajpath. He added "We may knock the doors of courts as it's against the rules of the country".
