I feel that the first step towards becoming a super power is to start from the bottom, concentrate on building the infra structure which itself is lacking - food, water, shelter ,power, roads connectivity. Without these there is no possible growth...Becoming a super power has to have sustained all round growth which may take a few years with dedicated work and commitment by everyone !

India is destined to become a super power if it remains politically united. It has chosen a democratic form of governance which makes growth relatively slow but ensures equity in growth to all sections of people. China is seen today as a super power but there is great inequality in its society and people do not have democratic rights. In fact there is no private ownership of property in China something that was one of the main reasons for the break up of Soviet Union. Indian model is slow , steady and what is important more humane.

In Present day China, there is private property and enterprise. Now the political system is communist but the economy is capitalist. They have even stock exchange at Shanghai. Chinese ruling party is 'Communist Party of China' only ame sake,. Otherwise the functioning is just like any capitalist system. But there is on party role and no obstacle from oppositio that simply does not exist. Naturally their pace of development is more rapid.

Only a few days back there were reports that a delegation from China visited India to understand private land ownership as they are under tremendous pressure to allow it in China. It was said in the report that Chinese do not have property rights but property is given on leases to industries etc.

I agree it is not a wholly free system as yet...here is a link which gives an insight into the aspect house ofownership and generally about housing in china ..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

India would have been superpower few years ago but due to too much corruption at higher level and free flow of black money and counterfeited notes weakening economy of this great country.

It is not so easy to become a super power. It requires the attainment of a very large number of abilities on a sustainable basis in almost all areas of the economy. today we are heavily dependent on foreign suppliers for our defense needs, energy needs,. We lack capital and have to make policies to attract foreign money . We are today a emerging economy a stage higher than a developing economy. Our share of International trade is 2-2.5%. Corruption and black money cannot shake a super power if we were one.
Dear USha, Try to understand the meaning of message.
Whole Team does not means all 282 MP.
I want to give an Example that Nitin Gadkari who was involved in a fake Sugar meal ( his driver and cook was the director of that company who started their company with Rs 10,000 capital and in next 2 year their company was of 150 Crore.).
It clearly shows the level of corruption .
The media person who was showing this message after winning the Government they stop showing this.
DOnt you think They will buy anything to hide their corruption and in next 10-15 year it would affect our national Economy .

I do understand that Das and I also feel that if they go the UPA way they will be unceremoniously shunted out by the citizens of India since they were elected so that they give better cleaner governance and hoping that Modi would do a better job..Talking about Nitin Gadkari here is a link which gives all the documental proof given by AAP against him..

it will take time and share of exports needs to rise to a satisfaction level for this growth of economy is a must and better decision making and stabilization of government in political level. Of course as you mentioned this will take time and the roads ahead are not full of roses.

Its only a stable government can take the country to the realms of excellence. Not coalitions.

It is not stablity or instabilty- one party or coalition that matters. A coalition government could also be very stable as we see in Kerala where either Left or Congress led coalitions rule for full terms. In West Bengal also, Left front ruled continously for many decades. Actually excellence need be motto of all citizens. Traditionally, we have adopted middle path, as according to our culture, extreme always needs be avoided. (Ati sarvatra varjayet). Our scientists and engineers will work in this direction whatever be the government. As a matter of fact, government is run by bureaucracy and not ministers who just come and go.

A government with one party as coalition partner will run successfully giving good governance. Too many coalition partner parties lead to instability, where the government cannot succeed to satisfy all the partners which have different views and objectives. Less coalition members, better it would be.

Many parties do not matter when there is one strong party in the coalition and overall majority is comfortable. It is only when all parties in coalition are small and majority is razor thin.
