If I was not doing my current job, I think I would have been at my hometown probably in a teaching profession, since my father was a lecturer and that trend would have continued.
However, from an interest and passion perspective, I always wanted to join the Navy or Army. But I equally love my current job :)
How about you all?
Regards.

To me the best job would be to have a share broking firm with lots of clients - you make profit either way, whether the market goes up or down,,,,
I have been a share broker but now a tax consultant. Lot of clients depends on your quality of service and marketing skill. Of course, your profit depends on volume of business. But generally, volume of business also falls in falling market and consequently less profit for broker.
Especially if a client depends on broker for his investment, he would take it for lack of knowledge of broker and would want to close his account from your firm.

If broker makes it clear that he is just a broker and not a consultant, he may not lose if he honestly and efficiently performs his functions. Somebody without adequate expertise posing as an investment expert is like a quack.

If you are honest with your job it is a good steady job. I know of 3 firms in my city who have been there for more than 25 years running a steady brokerage business and have expanded and spread to other cities as well...

But you would agree with me that like most other services, most brokers with such firms engage people who going overboard and in trying to grab more business misguide their clients intentionally or unknowingly. I know this is not true for all brokers.
Do you like to work here in Boddunan? If yes, then you are working atleast in one place of your choice. The other job which you are doing is for your family's satisfaction. Don't leave it.
If one identifies his love and if he's able to get a job of his liking,no one will leave a job. The problem arises when one is not certain of his likings .then the state of dissatisfaction will continue. And it makes one a nomad switching from one job to another all along the life.

There is one more consideration while taking up a job - money ! We all work for money and when you have both earning to ypur liking and job satisfaction there is nothing like it ...
Even I would not have been doing the current job I also would have been in teaching profession as I love teaching kids. I had a dream of being a teacher since childhood but I did engineering and doing a job in a manufacturing unit. :blink:Teaching profession is good for satisfaction but it will not fetch one a descent living standard. Most of teachers are lining in semi poverty.
No its not the case now teachers also are earning well these days. It was in the past when private schools used to pay them less but now at least in Delhi they have revised their pay scale.
Sometimes, when there is huge work and plenty of pending jobs or tension in work place, just make me think at night of thinking of changing of job, then it is for sure, that it is not possible, but it is all about dreaming.
Certainly its happening with me these days as I have lots of work pressure at job and many times I think to change a job but practically its not possible as I know every industry in private sector has such work pressure and we have to cope with it.

Did you ever think why the jobs piled up ?A bit of introspection will lead to answer and solution too. Poor time management makes you resort to procrastination. This in turn leads to depression....and the chain follows. That's why many blame the job they are doing. In fact it's the person has to be blamed.
In financial sector especially in banks and at some places of my state, public are extremely volatile and some of them have tried to intimidate me and also many a times gave me warning to attack me if such loans are not sanctioned, though they are defaulters, all these are external pressures and difficult to handle, though I am capable of. But pressure is from my parents to leave the job.Sometimes, when there is huge work and plenty of pending jobs or tension in work place, just make me think at night of thinking of changing of job, then it is for sure, that it is not possible, but it is all about dreaming.

I can understand. But due to work pressure in any field people rarely quit their jobs. My father was a Regional manager of a Nationalised Bank who worked in every place of the state without any problems.

But I have seen my organisation most of the people leave due to work pressure. Other things are very rare for which people leave the organisation where I work.
I dont think there is an easy job in this world unless you have plenty of money and enough bank deposit and all that you do is withdraw and spend ! I too have a tough job where I face all kinds of political elemets since I work for a government school in a village where the people are so ignorant that they get completely manipulated by alll the important people in the village. The school gets used for all the functions of these goons and the saddest part is the villagers are only too ready for this not realising that the chidren are losing out...Some of the politicians want the teachers to pool in these celebrations and those who dont becomne their target and I have had my share, thankfully now they leave me alone ..

I can understand, at village level politics becomes even more dirtier and volatile! It must be quite difficult for an educated and cultured person like you while dealing with such coarse people!

It is tough but now I know who they are and how to deal with them. You also realise that the more you bend the more they try to stamp you down...So, now I just hit back and they dont bother with me and some of us teachers stand together which also gives us added strength to deal with them..

There are many not one or two. The stand together to harass others. This is a game of dirty mind.

These dirty games are there ever since we know. Standing firm with courage will thwart those dirty minds. It needs courage.

Sanjeev, culture of private companies especially with the trained professionals is altogether different from government offices where sycophancy or buttering or leg-pulling etc will work. You have to concentrate on work to stay useful for your company. That is the reason you don't see such people in private sector or see them rarely.
