We see people using swear words these days at the drop of a hat.The other day I saw an old man holding on to a walking stick crossing the road and I stopped my vehicle so that he could cross, a scooter rider came zooming behind me ,nearly hit the old gentleman on the road and used a swear word( unprintable here ) at both me and the old man and vanished.Is there no respect for people and humanity anymore ? and is it right to use such words so freely?I see students using some words freely even in their everyday conversation...
More importantly is this something that children have picked up at school? or is this something that their own parents use and has been picked up at home , one wonders..

Sharmishtha, you have completed more than 1500 posts here and so you can hardly be termed as a new user. The most sensible thing for you to do is to follow the rules which have been pointed at for you a number of times, but mostly you never reply to such posts! You are not the only one who does that, many people withdraw when faced with such situations, I used to be like that too but then down the line realized that it does not help so changed myself. Also, one does not need to use swear words all the time to make a point, just being firm and strong helps! You only have to let people know that you are not the one to take any kind of crap and they withdraw!

I agree with that, in fact using swear words and screaming at the top of ones vice shows that the person is prone to lose his/her balance easily...To get your point across you don't need to do that at all, like you say being firm is good enough !
