There is big growth of residential area. The colonizers go on acquiring land from farmers and later developing area in residential colonies. I fear this trend will vanish fields and forests.
It is another very grim and scary prospect of losing agricultural land to make way for concrete jungles! We might be facing a severe food crisis in a few decades' time!

Yet I want to know if rules are there for converting fields to plots.
Here, it's very strict. Hectares of paddy fields are there without cultivation for more than 15 years...people waiting for some orders from government to sell them. So, I warmly welcome government since they don't change rules!!!

Ya that's why price of eatable items are increasing day by day....
Naturally when there will be no land left for forming the rates of eatables will go up. There is no way out.

Then all will start to eat them selves like animals. In future this will be the situation.

The top headline of today's Kerala newspaper is somewhat shocking....
Those paddy fields and fresh water ponds converted to land before January 2005 (unused till now) but still under the claws of laws are to be declared land now. By this way, 1000 acres of cultivation land are to be converted to normal are, applying rules. :( :( :(
By this way, government has opened a new way prompting other paddy fields also to be filled with soil and convert them to land very soon or later. It's really heart breaking as, if it continues this way, our small greeny state will be totally converted to flats and malls.
Labour cost is so high here. That's why people are not cultivating here. If government allows such paddy fields to be converted to land area, very soon or later, remaining fields will also meet the same fate.
Many leaders are opposing this decision...both the parties. Let us hope for the best.....may Government re-consider this decision.
2 days before only, Chief minister put forward a new suggestion of selling paddy fields to farmers only. Then why does it happen so, so suddenly
