This is going to be another political shows for your eyes only. Every thing is pre-planned. Ultimately Trivedi will give in to make Mamta a winner. Advantage TMC.

This reveals that coalition politics is not yet on firm grounds. There are no rules yet for norms of ministry making and functioning.
Constitutionally, It is Prime Minister's prerogative to constitute his cabinet. This is okay in single party government. In a coalition, ministers are appointed by means of quota from constituent political parties. The Railway Minister is from Trinmool Congress and hence he must resign when his party withdraws him. It is highly improper for the Railway minister to stick to his job in spite of clear intention of his party to withdraw him and appoint another person. It is funny that he boasts of placing national interests above party. He owes his appointment to his party and he has no business to continue in the even of his withdrawal by his party.

According to me, Dinesh Trivedi should stay in the party as Railway Minister. He should not resign.

He is in Railway Ministry on Trinmool congress quota. Hence, if his party nominates some one else and withdraws him, he must resign. Parliamentary system is run on party basis and not individual basis.

Gulshanji, you are correct! Once he got elected on TMC's party ticket he is bound to follow the instructions of his leader.

At last, Trivedi has resigned. Would it not be better to do this at the earliest?
