As parents we need to our bit towards our children and this includes checking their books and also activity books and helping them with their studies at least until the time when they are able to do it by themselves or we feel that they have learnt to be responsible about their studies...I have done that when my kids were growing up.
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
