India is a country with so many religions, so there would be conflicts.....However, it all depends on the influence that the general mass would have on your idea.........

Rightly stated that India is a country with many religions. This should make us more tolerant towards other religions. In fact, most people are tolerant and even facilitate or participate in religious functions of other communities. We had good poet like Raskhan who though Muslim wrote nice poems on Krishna, a Hindu deity. The extremists are handful. They cannot be totally eliminated but we should attempt to minimize their influence. It is necessary not to force belief of one religion on others. everyone should be free to abide by any religion or no religion.

I would like to state another example.....Sai Baba...he was a Muslim but most of his followers are Hindu and in fact he is most popular among the Hindus......that clearly state our acceptance for any religion...only the motive should be good.....
People are now educated and religious extremism are rarely found......

But it have very much reduced now a days comparing to 40-50 years before.
Only a small group is causing a lot of problems.
According to a Malayalam proverb, "Even a poison less snake is necessary for a person to throw away his food and keep himself hungry"
