The role of police is to assist needy injured people to hospital and communicate to concerned people. Media may also help in communicating to injured's relatives/ family. Media in fact helps people by communicating through TV channel and giving helpline phone nos.
The first thing is to behave people friendly in emergencies, where most of the police men are busy in useless things and media in collecting information.
It depending on the nature and location of the incident police should give their immediate help and media should not provide any false information...
In emergencies the role of the police doubles up into maintaining the law and order and rendering humanitarian services!
Role of media is to be discussed as policemen's duty already defined.Media people always try to take photoes and collect news rather than engaging in rescue activities. This should be stopped and they also should give their helping hands rather than serving their media.
In recent times I have watched with great disgust the role of a dubious kind played by a part of our electronic media to create a hype over events which is not desirable!
I think police and media play an important role in emergencies by safeguarding the interests of the people and recover them from any possible disaster and they by day they are becoming much aware about their duties and responsibilities as the present situations want them to be so....
Months ago there was a photo in local daily.A person crying for life in a street while the media persons were rushing to take his photoes at that last moment also!
police should help the people who are in emergencies and media should provide them the resources.
