Will India be able to eradicate poverty by 2020?

    India and poverty and very much related and believe me India won't be able to eradicate poverty by 2020 especially when it is facing the problems of over-population, unemployment and lack of industrial development and proper infrastructure....

    It is possible to eradicate poverty. Even now, the poor are much less than a few years ago. Now poverty is confined to areas like Orissa, Bihar and Bengal. By developing the backward regions, poverty may be remarkably tackled.

    I can't say about other state but in Orissa poverty can't be eradicated as maximum people who are below poverty lines are tribal people.And these tribal people just doesn't want to change their lifestyle or their habitat. Several NGOs are trying in this field but failed to change these people.

    I think India won't be able to eradicate poverty completely by 2010 but saying that at the same time I do believe that it might have a better control on that by the year 2020...

    Not at all. India is not that much powerful country that could eradicate poverty.

    if in this way india is running it cant eraicate poverty by 2020. rich is becoming richer and poor are now not geting food to eat.

    I donot think so because there always lies a vast experience between the have and havenots and our economy is developing stage and still require more time to cope up from the financial problems and can aim to eradication of poverty.
