I agree that there is some risk in revealing your mobile number on facebook...the convenience is that you get messages even when you are not online...

Personal details should not be given not only in FB but in any social website as they may be misused by the miscreants

I agee, that is why I have one number especially for this purpose. That one has no other function but to provide on useless applictions. I have couple of emails also for that. It serves my purpose without giving my real personality out.

A wise decision. Save yourself from the Miscreants.

I have same mobile number for all purposes and have also linked this to Facebook. But I do not write personal details in any site nor any images of different sites or my personal plans for visiting any place. I feel so much suffices.

Sir, wth due respect all your numbers are very much traceble on your fb account with your home and office adresses and other vital details traceble without much efforts and that too while you are not in my connections. You can not hide your details once you have given your name or even one profile picture. 

I can say as a rule divulging personal details in any website be it FB or any social website is likely to pose problems. There is nothing like "Safety " on the internet.

The same here, I have a number meant just for online sites that way I dont have to worry..

I don't use mobile at all. I think that's the best solution.

Haha, not using a facility is not the solution but doing it carefully is. I know why you dont use a mobile. Security has nothing to do with that. Agree?
