Morphine, though a narcotic drug is an effective cure for pains ranging from moderate to severe pains.

Yet, in other parts of the world - including India -- many patients end up in needless pain because they are denied adequate relief.

Even WHO said Morphine is a great pain killer. Hence it should made available to all including India.

The doctors should be free to use any thing for medical purpose. If necessaray, doctor may use morphine.

The practice of using Morphine is prevalent as a an effective pain killer in most of the countries. Even the WHO also recommended the use of Morphine. It should be made available to India also for medicinal uses.

Being a narcotic drug, there should be restrictions so that morphine is handled by doctors only. Otherwise it will cause addiction and create serious health hazards.

Morphine is a well known contraband and physicians cannot prescribe it.

Morphine is fine as long as it's used in medicinal use, beyond that it's waste of money and health.

Morphine is universally accepted pain killer though it's a drug. No less than WHO has recommended for its medical use.

All pain killers are harmful and should strictly be used on medical prescription only. WHO never said painkillers could be used unless prescribed by doctors. Morphine is used by doctors based on patients weight and physical conditions only.

When I said WHO has recommended it is understood that under the Doctor's supervision. Self medication in any case is not at all recommended.
