The law was imposed in Tripura in 1997 to tackle insurgency in the state, following a spurt of militant violence. But in recent years, the state has been largely peaceful so they decided to withdraw it. What is so special about it that we should highlight it as much now? This certainly is defamatory for our brave forces. We should understand more than half such cases are fabricated so the moral of armed forces could bring down. Same happened in Kashmir and same is happening in all terror hit border areas.
