Modi is being denied a visa for long. No doubt there are many allegations of communal violence against him. But is it justified to deny visa to a Chief Minister of Indian state? Moreover, issue of denial of Visa should be concern of U.S. administration only and there is no reason why Indian MPs should campaign against issue of VISA to Gujarat C.M.
Some M.P. s have written a letter to U.S. President requesting not to issue VISA. Sita Ram Yechurry , CPI(M) and one more M.P. have denied having signed the letter. Yechuri said that somebody could have copy pasted his signature. According to him, it is for U.S. government to decide and he would never write a letter to U.S. President or any other foreign had of state. .

If I remember right, Modi once said that he was neither eager go to the US nor he is losing a dime if they do not issue him a visa. Maybe they will come forward with a visa for him one day soon in their own interest.
I agree Sita Ram and the other MP may not have signed that letter .

I remember that once C.P.I. (M) had expressed the view that denial of VISA to a head of government of a state is an insult to the nation. There are disputes between different political parties but these are our internal matter. For U.S.A. and all others, we are one nation.

I agree but we do not mind such insults much, remember frisking of our ex prez and defence minister. Any other nation would have retaliated or even worse could have happened.

This is okay. But just imagine some of our MPs praising U.S.A for such outrage! That is what some MPs are doing by writing to U.S. President.

This is due to kind of party politics that we have in our country. In other countries they become united when something goes wrong but in our country we always act divided into low level communism, party we follow, nation is never of prime importance for us. I hope we shall learn to be one in outer attacks of any kind.
