A former judge has attempted to tone down the involvement of a Kerala politician belonging to the ruling party saying that the suryanelli rape case is really not a rape but using a girl for child porn. The views are obviously perverse. Tape or child porn- both are bad enough and the concerned politician needs be removed from his current position and prosecuted.

If the lawyers and judges take such a biased view what can be expected? No wonder that politicians get away with rape and murder except when things are so evident that they cannot be hidden.....

This is the real condition of Bharat. There is no wonder youngsters vexed with the system are turning towards extreme activities. I'm sure, the concerned Politician would go scot-free.

India is all about contradictions and double standards so I am not really surprised in this case too. How can child prostitution be different than rape? And if a minor girl is involved the consequences of her being pushed into the prostitution is far more damaging and horrifying than on an adult woman! An adult woman at least knows what sex is but a little child would not even know what hit her! It is really a cruel thought and coming from a judge, it is even more horrifying and worrying for the common people. and he has the audacity to say that publicizing his remarks is "unethical and shameful" who is actually being shameful here??

Our judges too are a reflection of our society which seems to be sinking lower by the day...on the one hand they make woman a devi and talk about reservations on the other hand they treat her worse than an animal and both are wrong. If they just left them alone to make their choices, things would be far better...

If this were a case of prostitution only involving voluntary adult girl, there would be no issue. But child prostitution or child porn is most heinous and this is really very shameful for the politician involved

The real reason why our society does such things is because they are only trying to prove their superiority by controlling women in whichever way they are able to, ranging from, like you said, putting her on a pedestal and worshiping and then at the same time, committing a number of crimes in various unspeakable manners! And the standards are dipping more and more as we advance more technologically. Only yesterday, there was another news of a 2-year-old being raped and killed!  And such type of comments coming from judicially and morally responsible people add fuel to such acts!

In India nothing can be done. Those political people are spreading this type of activities and so people are becoming much dare to it.

Basically we are hypocrites of the nth order. We are dual tongued. We say something and do another. And from this point all other evils arose and they continue to arise.

I am surprised that I didn't read this thread till now. Today I was to start a new thread on Kurian as "Hot news of your state now". Then I thought I will post it here as this thread is about similar case.
@Gulshanji, Kindly correct it as 'Suryanelli'.
you can check wiki to get full idea
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suryanelli_rape_case
You should read it once to know the true colours of our politicians  . A famous Malayalam actor was also involved, but he was set free for not having enough proof, am not taking his name here.

Now let me tell you in brief words and present status.
Perhaps Suryanelli is the case of child abuse and prostitution that got this much attention in our state. It occurred long back in 1996, when I was studying in PDC. That's the case of Abhaya case....20 years have passed. That shows the speed of our judiciary.

This incident occurred in a tribal place of Idukki district, Suryanelli. Now this village is known world wide for this rape case. Years back, 35 persons were punished. Everything was crystal clear. But again, later found Dharmarajan guilty only of crimes related to the sex trade, and all others were set free      .
A few days before, supreme court cancelled it and ordered the High Court to hear the appeal afresh. Supreme court blamed and used harsh words too...perhaps Delhi case was the trigger behind it.
when it was cancelled 35 punished persons are criminals now. It's not the hot and spicy news.

Spicy news is about Mr.Kurien, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha
He was accused multiple times, many eye witnesses also there. Yet Kerala Government is not willing to re-open the case against him
In the past two weeks, Kerala has witnessed a lot of heat in the capital city for this case. If he is a victim and girl has given statement against him, why should Kerala Government support him

the top head line of today's newspaper is Dharmarajan is arrested
