His strategy may be okay if he just practiced and not preached. The fear is that by such irresponsible utterance, he will give opportunity to Pakistan to say that India is herself terrorist.  what we need is not to employ private terrorists to combat the terrorists from abroad. What we need is to adequately prepare our security forces and intelligence agencies to combat the terrorists.  

Knowing the past experiences with Pakistan who abet terrorism only to use against India, The defense minister realized that SOFT methods are of no use. In this context he reminded us that the present govt had given a freehand to the army to tackle the situation.. I support his views.

International arena is not helping Indian at all by supporting directly or indirectly to western neighbor as recently, India wants the dreaded terrorist to be named terrorist officially and all supported only China vetoed it three days back. As China has business concerns as well as some part of its are influence of terrorism and it wants to stay with India. In this case the best case is to leave army with its optimum powers and in war everything is fair as there could not be loss of human lives and property on one side. Previous govt. does not allow armed forces free hand but this govt is making armed forces to do whatever according to situation. Though it might not be successful or might be success but western neighbor is also hiring these terrorists for money and sending towards ours border then. Recently, Musharraf in an interview elaborated in detail about how armed intruders in Kargil war were hired. This tells all the story. 

India is an independent nation having its own army and an able leadership . Defeating Pakistan is not a new thing. Irrespective of international support we are capable of teaching any country that encourages terrorism against any country.

Parrikar has proved he has no idea of terrorism and how to counter it. No intelligent man could have made such a statement. Instead of talking he needs to act.

It might be the other way around as he is saying what India is not doing, as he was a person with high integrity and he knows what he is speaking about. 

Integrity is a different proposition. The real need is ACTION. Not mere words. If he can show action, of course he deserves all the praise under the sun.

ACTION is something that can only be done in case you have total military and air superiority like USA. This India does not have even against Pakistan and any action will backfire badly. As a soldier let me inform that the next war even with Pakistan will not be like 1971. As a soldier I can say that there is a element of exasperation creeping into the armed forces due to government policies.

The feeling in the armed forces is that they are not getting their due in terms of pay and privileges. Also the force levels vs both China and Pakistan is abysmally low. In a detailed post I shall bring it out. As an example, the Indian army has 3 divisions facing China's 30.

I can understand. No one can be a better judge than you because you lived and experienced in the Real things. My appreciations and respects to you .

Defense minister is a man of high integrity and there is no way one could doubt about his integrity toward defense preparedness. 

Integrity is not needed here. He has to have the relevant field level knowledge which he lacks.

I do not think so, there are officers and secretaries which did the job and the minister's job is to find out whether all policy decisions are on right path or not, and that is where integrity matters. He has experience in administration and every department needs such experience. You have said integrity is a different proposition in earlier thread and want action but all these comes from a leader who has determination and courage to take action. 

I stick to the my point. Remember that administration is just half job done. In this respect I support Mr. G. Singh who worked as a soldier in the actual field conditions.

I did not agree with Mr. MG Singh's point of view, in this era of conflict face to face battle which he describes does not hold good, it is time of proxy war and what Pakistan has been doing India could have done better but due to political limitations not able to perform this and with this new government, giving freedom to armed forces and it is showing as Pak's army chief also shows proof of India is acting in ghost manner in some of areas of Pakistan in order to destabilize it, as MG Singh talked about face to face forward movement war, that was thing of past, only armed forces have to be given their due power and this is what integrity to responsibility I think, suprised to find so much negativity to a soldier's view, as about one rank one pension scheme this would be done and it is work in progress himself PM said so why so much hurry, 40 years gone by just wait for few months,

I am not talking to you, I have written in response to MG singh, and it is not different issues, as starter of this thread, I know what this thread about, you better read about it, and do not interfere when reference given to others. This is on topic and please kindly do move away from discussion and this thread is not about integrity of defense minister, as you are moving away from the thread topic. 

I am also not talking with you. In a forum members are free to express their opinions to any body.

What is yours opinion on this subject or just keep writing those absurd and repetitive sentences in order garner points.
