There is a quote" First impression is the best impression" but the fact is that sometimes the first impression is your only impression-you may not get another opportunity to make your impression again. So we must make sure that we make a significant impact on our first impression.First impression is essential,be it an interview,a conversation or a meeting.
Here are some quick tips for making a better first impression.
Eye contact is very essential.Wandering your eyes away from an person only distracts the person and makes an impression that you regret to be having a conversation with that person.
Make eye contact half or two thirds of the time.Too much eye contact may be falsely perceived as a person who is stubborn.
Make sure you pay attention to your body language when you are talking and when you are listening.
When you are speaking, make sure you use your hands, making small gestures and also give some facial expressions. All these will make the person more interested in listening you.No one likes to watch a stone walled person giving a speech before them.
When you are listening, as mentioned before make sure you have eye contact and also nod every now and then so that you can convey the message that you are interested in what you are listening to.
A smile comes a long way in making an impression.Even faking a smile at the right time makes a lot of difference.By having a smile now and then(don't laugh, just smile) you tend to make the conversation and the person before you more friendly.
Also a smile must be a sincere one that conveys the message "Today is a great day and I'm happy to send time with you".It must not convey the message "This is so boring, finish the speech/conversation soon"
Be careful of sharing your personal ideas and things about personal life. Most often, when you talk about your personal ideologies or about your personal life. people tend to get bored.Keep it light, keep it positive.Remember, no one is going to be interested of what your pet's name is, when you are speaking to them for the first time!
A little flattery is good. But overdoing it , seriously affects your impression.People who are warm toward others, giving others compliments have more chances to have a successful conversation with anyone.Compliments given with sincerity is good. But compliments said just for flattery may sometimes lead to trouble!.
Use simple and plain words while speaking, avoid using complex words or complex meaning sentences.make sure you use some top notch quotes and some examples when and where necessary. These will make sure that you convey the message "I'm well prepared for this speech/conversation".
One of the most importance of making a good impression is to be a good speaker and a good listener. No one likes to be in an one sided conversation. When you are supportive to give the person to express their views, you make sure that the conversation is interactive and interesting.
Check your impulses to use the name of the person before you. It's a way to bridge an intellectual gap.make sure that you address them with respect every now and then like Mr.X or Ms.X and so on and so forth.
And finally never appear in a normal mood, every now and then show a variety of gestures, don't be thoughtful to use your arms, don't hesitate to make gestures and expression since a conversation with zero expression is downright boring.
The next time you want to make an significant impact-the first impression ,let it be your best impression.
Luck-How lucky are you to get LUCK
whatever people are, what they do, they tend to luck for some answers in life. When someone fails to achieve something, there is always 'luck' to be blamed upon. They say destiny is already written and you can't change it.And there is a belief that only luck can bring great opportunities and success to an individual. Is it true?NO!. You are what you think and your actions will determine how many opportunities you get and how successful you become. What ever your future is, you can affect it by your actions today.
For many centuries people have recognized in the power of luck. And they have developed and done superstitions to help them achieve the elusive luck.
But getting luck is not that much difficult!.
Living a positive, charmed life is essential.Studies and surveys have shown that the persons that are presumed to be lucky tend to live with some basic principles-seizing every chance and opportunity, creating self-fulfilling prophecies through positive attitude and adopting a resilient attitude that turns around bad luck from their lives. There is a famous quote "I find that whenever i work hard,i tend to become lucky" this is very much true.Opportunities are made and they don't come to you all of a sudden.
Being open minded is also a way to get lucky.People who are open minded tend to spot more opportunities than other narrow minded persons.Narrow minded people tend to miss the opportunities since they are looking for something extra always.
There was an experiment made to find out why the Lucky persons got more opportunities and why the unlucky were simply unlucky. Both groups of people were given a news paper and asked to find out how many pictures were there in that paper. The lucky people were able to finish the task in seconds while the unlucky were taking minutes to do the same. Was it because it was true that lucky people are successful? Absolutely not.The news paper contained a big quote in the second page saying" Stop counting there are 42 pictures overall in this news paper".
The lucky people were open minded and were able to spot the line and finished the task sooner. The unlucky people were too busy looking and counting only the pictures.
The unlucky miss chances of opportunities because they're too busy looking for something else.Lucky people tend to look for what is there rather than what they are looking for.
Let me give you a small story that will give you the big picture of being "open minded".Imagine you own a orange farm. Each day your goal is to collect a basket of oranges. At first it won't matter where(which part of the farm) you tend to look for the oranges since the whole farm will have oranges. But gradually it will become harder to find oranges if you go looking in the same part of the farm every day.If you go to new parts of the farm, you are sure to get some oranges every time. You can compare the oranges to luck or opportunity.
Apart from thinking positively, being optimistic about things is very essential.Highly optimistic persons tend to be happy, be happy about their lives, keep their expectations high and increase the chances of leading a lucky life.
There is something called counter factual thinking. What it means that people tend to think about what might have happened rather than what has actually happened.
It is easy to explain with an example: an optimistic person , when he has won a bronze medal, thinks that he is fortunate that his performance was bad that he did not get even the bronze medal. But when a pessimistic person, even when he got a silver medal thinks whether he should have performed better to get the gold medal.
Lucky people always tend to be optimistic about things, content with what they have and Unlucky people tend to think about things that are out of their reach presently. It's the way people handle mis-fortunes that makes them Lucky or Unlucky
A man went to a car showroom to buy a car,he had no idea of which one to buy.He saw a car that looked good and he liked it too but he couldn't afford that. The man thought about the problems of debts if he should buy that car so he turned down the decision of buying it.A week later he returned to the same car show room, he bought a car that he liked, that which suited him and all these for a lesser price!.
So the last aspect of being lucky is to learn to be lucky.Change your thought and behavior to suit a Lucky person-expect good fortune, always be optimistic/positive, don't dwell on the negative thoughts and always see the big picture of life than regretting for minor faults in it.Your bad luck will definitely vanish!!.

I know u have lived ur life happily but don't u want our next generation to
live happily???
In our life almost on a day to day basis, we come across 2 types of people. The first type can be classified in upper category while the 2nd type in lower category. Typical examples of upper-lower category are given below:-
Father-Children:- The father or mother as head of the family always lays down rules which has to be followed. Any deviation and the child could be punished. Some children even live under the fear of her parents scoldings
Teacher-Student:- Teacher is authorized to have totally authority over the student. Nobody can stop that authority The teacher is given the power by the school or college. Also by default teacher being more qualified & more aged gets the powers automatically.
Boss-Subordinate:- A boss is better qualified than the subordinate. He is paid more, has a better designation and is also empowered to wield authority. It is the subordinates duty to obey the boss as laid down by the rules and regulations of the organization.
It is a well known fact that all of us crave for power and when presented with a opportunity like to wield it. While there is nothing wrong in wielding power, as elders we have 2 major responsibilities.
1) We should set an example and for that it becomes very important to ensure we are not at fault. If we are at fault, then we should correct ourselves before setting rules for our juniors.
2) We should also understand along with power, we should take responsibility of our juniors. It is out duty to ensure that our juniors are properly guided and taken care of.
I hope all seniors whether, parents, teachers or bosses look into this aspect.

Satish
Be responsible
None of us is born acting responsibility. A responsible character is formed over time. It I made of our out look and daily habits associated with feelings, thoughts and actions. Responsible people act the way they should whether or not anyone is watching. They do so because they understand that it’s right because they have the courage and self-control to act decently, even hen tempted to do otherwise.
As part of being responsible, we need to respect and show concern for the well-being of other people. Respect ranges from using basic manners to having compassion for the suffering of others.
Being responsible makes you feel good about yourself and make others respect and appreciate you.
How to be responsible feel great
- When you agree to do something, does it: if you let people down, they will stop believing you. When you follow through on your commitments, people take you seriously.
- Answer for your own actions: do not make excuses or blame other for what you do. When you take responsibility for your actions you are saying. ``I am the one who’s in charge of my life’’.
- Take care of your own matters: do not rely on adults to remind you when you’re supposed to be somewhere or that you’re supposed to bring. You take the responsibility.
- Be trustworthy: if somebody trusts you to borrow or take care of something, take care of it. If somebody tells you something in confidence, keep it to yourself. It’s important for people to know they can count on you.
- Always use your head: think things through and use good judgment. When you use head you make better choices. That shows your parents that they can trust you.
- Do not put things off: when ou have a job to do, do it. Doing things on time helps you take control of your life and shows that you can manage your own affairs.
