Garlic is a very good reliever of gastric troubles. We should include in our food atleast once in a week.

I made this kuzhambu today morning. It came out very well. Here is how i did:

Ingredients:

 

  • Tamarind - Size of lemon
  • Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dhal - 2 tsp
  • Red chillies - 2 ( Small ) or 1 ( Large )
  • Asafoetida powder - little
  • Garlic - 10 to 15 teeths
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Ghee - 4 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste

 

Method:


1. Put 2 tsp ghee on the pan and wait for 2 minutes.

2. Add pepper, coriander seeds, red chillies , urad dhal and fry

3. Add garlic teeths , asafoetida powder and fry.

4. Allow the above to cool for sometime and then grind all to a fine paste.

5. Extract the tamarind juice for 1 cup and add 1 cup of water

6. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds.

7. When mustard seeds sputters out, add the tamarind juice, grinded paste, salt and mix it well.

8. After the kuzhambu is boiled well and yellow colour comes on the corner of the pan remove from the flame.

9. Add 1 tsp of ghee to the kuzhambu and serve it.
