A good back workout is essential for a few different reasons. First to well help with good posture and to keep back injuries at bay. Not saying you still can't put your back out. But keeping your back muscles in shape does minimize any possible injuries.

Do these with moderate weight. Get the feel for the exercises and then ad more as you get stronger.
