Hi Folks, most of us have windows XP as their operating system which takes a lot of time to shutdown. Usually all you
people are only interested in speeding up the performance of XP and now everybody must be knowing the tricks in it. So I am
going to tell you people how to shutdown windows XP faster.
The steps are......
1. Open the Run menu and type in regedit which opens the registry editor.
2. Go to the following location
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
3. In Desktop check the fields on right hand side....edit the Wait ToKillApp Timeout and put in the value as 4000.
4. Now go to the followin location
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrnetControlSet\Control
5. In Control check edit the field Wait ToKillService Timeout and put in the value as 4000.
By doing the above steps you computer will shutdown faster.

Hi Folks this article is all about identifying the hidden hardware your computer has. First you can identify them and then
troubleshoot so that they work effeciently.
The steps are :
1. Open the Run Menu from Start and type in devmgmt.msc. This opens the device manager window.
2. Now enable the Show Hidden Devices in the View menu. This pops up many Adapters in the Network Adapters section.
Close the Device Manager window.
3. Now to view the hidden hardware Right Click the My Computer Icon on the Desktop and select the Advanced tab
4. In the Advance tab In StartUp and Recovery Section open the Environmental Variables.
5. In the Environmental variables under section System varaibles select New.
6. Now the New System Variable window opens and type in the name of the variable as devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices
and put in the Variable value as 1 and click Ok and close the Environmental Window.
7. Now again open the Device Manager window and choose Show Hidden Devices opntion.
8. Under the Network Adapter section you can see all the hidden devices and hardware indicated by faded icons as to how the
hidden folders are shown.
9. Now using the DeviceManager you can troubleshoot the Hidden Devices and hardware.

here are some steps by which you can rename the recycle bin.as recycle binb can not be renamed with the option rename so here are some steps by which you can rename our recycle bin .
1. Start, Run, 'Regedit'.
2. Press 'Ctrl'+'F' to open find box and type 'Recycle Bin' to search.
3. Change any value data with 'Recycle Bin' to whatever name you want to give it ( ie, like 'Trash Can' or 'Dump' etc).
4. Press F3 to continue searching for 'Recycle Bin' and change wherever you come across 'Recycle Bin' to new its new name.
5. Repeat step 4 until you have finished with searching and changed all values to its new name.
6. Close regedit and hit F5 on desktop to see the new name on screen.
As a good practice, always backup your registry before changing anything although changing 'Recycle Bin' name is a simple tweak and doesnt affect anything else.
2.Windows XP cd.
Procedure:
1.Place the xp cd in your cd/dvd drive.
2.Go to start->Run->type cmd.
3.Type in command prompt 'sfc /scannow' (without the quotes).
Now it should all load, and fix all your corrupted file on windows XP.
Hi Folks, I am going to tell you people how to remove all the unwanted Software/Spyware/Malware and any other non
usefull processes from your System.
The steps are
1. First of all you need to make your way to www.hijackthis.de/en
Open your browser and type in the above URL.
2. Now you need to download and run the Hijackthis program.
3. Once opened, the program gives you a few options
4. Select the Do a system scan and save a log file
5. The HijackThis program produces a text file with a list of all processes currently running on your system.
Now you need to copy all the text in the log file and paste it in the above opened site i.e www.hijackthis.de/en
you need to place the text in the section You can paste a logfile in this textbox
6. After pasting the text hit the Analayse button. The site analyses all the information that you pasted in and then it produces a
repost giving details os whats good or not for your system.
7. Now all you need to do is go down the list on the website and find any processes that are labelled as "Nasty". Mark them
on the Hijackthis list and hit the fix button.
After following the above steps you will have a system which is running a lot faster and a system with no harmfull
Spyware/Malware.
