Router
Router is a layer three device i.e., network layer device. There are mainly two types of routers. They are:
1) Fixed interface &
2) Modular interface.
Fixed interface routers:
They are routers which can not add/remove interfaces/ports.
Modular interface routers:
They are routers which can add/remove interfaces/ports.
The ports in a router include serial port for WAN interface, Ethernet port for LAN interface, auxiliary port, console port to manage router and a BRI port to directly connect an ISDN connection. The BRI port is not used in new routers.
The main functions of routers are:
1) To find a routing path to destination network.
2) Route packets into corresponding interface by checking the routing table.
When a packet reaches the router it checks the destination ip address and then searches the entry in the routing table and it will place the packet to the corresponding interface.
Functioning method of router:
1) Learn the details of neighboring routers that are connected to reachable networks.
2) Find the exact location of destination networks.
3) Choose the correct path to reach that destination network.
4) Update the routing information in the routing table.
Router has mainly two types of components: software and hardware. The main hardware components used in a router are:
1) Processor – to process information.
2) Motherboard – it is the circuit interconnecting all peripherals.
3) Memory – permanent read/write memory (FLASH, NVRAM), temporary memory (DRAM), permanent read only memory (ROM).
4) Network interfaces
5) SMPS – switch mode power supply.
6) Chassis – component to protect all peripherals.
The ROM of router contains POST, bootstrap program, ROM monitor and mini-IOS. The Power-on-self-test conducts test on the router hardware. Then the bootstrap program brings the router up and loads the configuration files and IOS image. ROM monitor is a mini operating system through which user can perform low level testing and troubleshooting. The mini IOS is used when the IOS image cannot be loaded to the router. The RAM in router is having the same function as the RAM in a computer. It contains the running files like IOS image, routing table etc. Flash is a nonvolatile memory in which the IOS is stored. NVRAM is used to save the configuration files of the router.
Routers also contains interfaces through which data/packets is transferred to the destination. Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, serial are some of the interfaces available in a router.
The software part of the router is called IOS i.e. Internetwork Operating System.
In this article we will see about how to recover your lost password.....and for the reason that no drawing options are available, I've decided to draw some pics on ppt and put it on here.....hope its ok.....
1). BIOS PASSWORD
2).How To reset The password
NOTE : Don’t do this without the prior permission of Administrator.
3).Open the cabinet by removing screws.
4),Look for battery in the motherboard.
5). Just remove it then replace it and take a deep breath!!!
6).Then start your computer then you will have your normal screen
7). Now press ctrl+alt+delete for 3 times continuosly
8).result of step number 7:
9).Enter the Username as "Administrator" and press enter
10).Then you'll be logged into your system....
11).Then to change the password....:Go to Start->Run->cmd
12).Then type: "net user"....where space between net and user is must....
13).Resetting password:
14.)format to change the required user password is---->>>>> "net user user_name *"
15).Final Steps
a) Type the format and press enter
b) then give a password
and thats it...........its done........
hope its useful
Thankyou,

A robot is a machine that is programmed to do jobs that are usually performed by living persons.
- Robots can be programmed to do different tasks.
- A computer that can measure the world around it can take reliable action. Robots are computers that do this.
- A robot’s arm can be programmed to see the outline of a car and to paint all over it. Its reliability at doing this depends on the program it uses. If the program only lets it see the overall outline of the car, then it might continue to point it all over even if there is no door in position.
- A computer is only as intelligent as its program.
- A reliable robot’s arm will have position sensors. The computer can position the arm, and then use information from the sensor to check that it has put the arm in the right place. It can make corrections if necessary.
- Computer control system unlike robots may only be able to carry out one task. But they will be able to do this one task quickly, reliably and cheaply.
- A computerized production line needs no tea breaks, sleep or holidays. It can save money because lesser wages have to be paid. The initial cost of design, manufacture and installation may be high, and the system still has to be looked after and maintained.
Electronics
Electronics are system that control things by switching on and off tiny electrical circuits. The switches are not like light switches on the wall, but work automatically. A computer works with the help of electricity.
*Cad stands for computer –Aided design.
*The first computer was built by Charles Babbage in the 1830s.
*The artificial environment created by computers is called a cyberspace.
*Robot is a Czech word for forced labor.
*The CPU is the least important part of a computer.
*A monitor is also know as VDA (Visual Display Unit)
*A small machine which performs arithmetical operations rapidly is called a Calculator.
1) Open command prompt,(Ensure u r with in the directory c:\windows \System32).

3) A new message wil appear. It will say “Cannot find the C:\FILETOCHANGE.txt:YourName.txt file”. Do you want to create a new file?”, click OK button to proceed create the new file.
4) Now a notepad will pop open. Now type any data you want hidden. Save the file and the data is now hidden.
5). Now Explore in to c:\ directory and open the file you saved !! OOP you cant find the data you typed.
6). You can get the dat only by going back to notepad and type as notepad c:\FILETOCHANGE.txt:YourName
Well nowadays everyone is using computers...and some of them don't know what a registry editor is.....so this is a tutorial
Definition Of Windows Registry:
The windows registry is a database that stores settings and options for Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. It contains information and settings for hardware, operating system software, most non-operating system software, and per-user settings.
Apart from what you can do with this Registry there are some malware programs or worms or viruses that would simply affect this windows register and change the settings for example:
Example; Windows Task Manager:
In windows operating systems the task manager gets disabled and you can't do anything but you will get a message saying "The administrator disabled your registry" even when you didn't do such things.....so just follow this simple trick to re-activate your Task Manager( TESTED works perfectly) using registry editor
There is a registry key that will disable Task Manager, although it’s not always clear how or why it was set to disable. In many cases the problem is related to spyware, so you should also scan your computer.
MANUAL STEPS TO ACTIVATE Task Manager:
Open up regedit.exe through the start menu search or run box, and then navigate down to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
On the right-hand side is a 32-bit REG_DWORD value named DisableTaskMgr with one of two values:
- 1 – Disable task manager
- 0 – Enable task manager
Just double-click and change the value, or even delete the key. The change should take place immediately.
Thats it the simple way to re-activate your Task Manager.....
I'll meet you soon with more registry editor tricks..
Thankyou,
Rajkumar.
