I have got a new idea.We can start a Discussion name as"Daily News".So each and every one in the site can have part in this . We share Daily news.In case if some one didn't read today news paper.They can read from Discussion . I hope this would be useful for all us.

    What is the difference in the proposed category 'news' and 'currnt events' which already exists. will there not be an overlap.
