You can go to the tab "Community,make friends"
Make some friends by searching them and sending request.
Then using the inbox tab, you can write and send messages.The message sent will appear like a scrap in orkut and it would be just like a orkut scrap chat! :)

Also..You can select the apt category by using the category tab in the forum.
