I am residing in a 100% literacy state. I can't find even a single kid around me, who is not going to school....even if he is very poor. actually, in our state, every parent want his kid to learn. In this matter, Kerala is a lucky state, for sure. So, I can't comment anything on it. :cheer: :P

Surely education is important.. they should understand this thing, and I am sure they will be inspired by their self when they will see other kids getting good education.

Yes absolutely!!
Kerala was declared as a 100% literate state in 1991 or 92. It was E.K.Nayanar, the then chief minister of Kerala who put this much effort to bring 100% literacy to state. I still remember, when I was in 5th or 6th standard. Great campaigns were done and many night classes were conducted, and many people (many of my neighbours too who are workers) above 60-70 also participate in it to make that effort successful.
Many people visit each and evry home, and teach illeterate persons to write their names in Malayalam.
I think it was the best thing done by Nayanar as chief minister.
Now also, I think, you can't find even a single kid in our state who is not going to school.
