Reservation issue has reached its climax. There is demand from almost every caste or ground for reservation. It is apparent that quota system and not merit will always be the criteria for govt jobs and the various groups will ever indulge in fight over quota.

why no community is asking to lift the reservations ? It is been a drag on the intellectuals since the independance. Less qualified and low capable guys are getting govt jobs every where and there attitude after getting the job is very disappointing. Even if an employee gets more than 30000 per month his/her kids get lumpsgrants from the schools...?

Each community fights for reservation for itself rather than demanding end to this. The only communities that may not demand reservation are Brahmans and Vaishya or bania. The Brahamans have already centuries old reservation in religious rituals and temples whereas the vaishya/ bania have reservation in Business and industry with lot of inherited money and business establishment. Hence, nobody will call for ending reservations.

The community based thinking in India is one of reasons for the poverty in india. If you want have reservation let us give it on the basis of pure poverty. If some one admits that they are poor and needs some special aids from the govt. let the authorities check the conditions and give or reject. It should be based ones financial conditions and not on cast!

I agree. But the help should in shape of scholarship and subsidies. There should be help for training and education and not in services and legislature.

Well gulshan no one has problem in performing their rituals or profession acquired from their ancestors...Even a farmer or milkman gets good income with their ancestors profession..but education is the vital aspect which is making everbody to opt for reservation ...So even brahims and vaishaya who want education and jobs in goverment organization are facing diffficulties to get with talent...as you said their professions can give them oppurtunity earn more..I also want to say a Sudra or SC/ST can also get good revenue from their ancestors business..
I am totally against the reservation issues and I totally agree with what Shalu says.
