Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar has translated the national song Vande mataram from Sanskrit to Hindi for director Ashutosh Gowariker's forthcoming period film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. :P

Translated work cannot covey same sense and enjoyment as the original. Vande Mataram is not same as -Ma tujh ko salaam. vande mataram is best sung in original words.
