For father Shiv Charan, an auto-rickshaw driver in Ranchi, and mother Geeta, a primary health-centre nurse, Friday saw the fulfillment of the family's collective dream. That was when their 17-year-old daughter Deepika won the Commonwealth Games 2010 archery team gold in the recurve category marking a journey that has seen many harsh slings of fortune.

The government should understand her situation and the flair she has towards archery and she should be provided with all facilities to master this art.
She is a class act! She is a shining example for millions of youngsters of the country!

These atheletes should be brought into limelight and not only crickers.....
Yes,Deepika and many others who have come from a very remote place must be encouraged to achieve more.I appreciate both her mother and father for encouraging her. :) :)
