While releasing a book, the Prime Minister remarked that Som nath Chaterjee author of the book is above party politics and is great parliamentarian.

If being 'above party politics' is such a virtue, I hope shri man Mohan singh will encourage Congress men to similarly act 'above party line'.

Such type of remarks hardly suit those who are not even 'above Nehru Gandhi dynastic politics'.

Its a strategic mistake by the party we cannot hold any one individual responsible for what has happened, its not BJP or congress where the party general secretary is responsible its the politburo!

Very apt coments Sajeetharan. The C.P.I.(M) has a constitution and goes by that. The general secretary, politburo, central executive committee are all elected bodies and work according to party constitution. Som Nath Chaterjee could seek reversal of politburo decision to expel him by filing an appeal. If he did not chose to do so and did not rectify his mistake, he is not only above the party but also outside the party.
