Betrothal of 4 month old girl with a 18 month old boy

A bizarre incident of betrothal of a four year old girl baby with a boy baby of 18 month has come to light. This happened in Firozabad, adjoining Agra.

Three elder sisters of the baby had died. some one suggested that the girl could live if she was married. As child marriage is unlawful, they decided to perform 'goad bharai'- a sort of betrothal.

    Betrothal = the act of becoming engaged to marry somebody, or the state of being engaged to somebody.

    This is the very sad thing, Govt has to take them for rehabilitation.

    You are right Meean, it seems like we are going back in time with advancing days. Sadly, media channels like India TV and serials like Balika Vadhu are adding fuel to such incidents because it is a fact that vast majority of population is greatly influenced by what they see on TV!!

    Kalyani- The TV channels have no topics other than superstitions, obsolete and harmful customs, tantrik and so called saints lectures etc.

    This is a very sad news. And rightly said TV channels especially news channel like Aaj Tak continously show absurd unrelated news which people see and get influenced.

    The only way to discourage this news channels is to set them as skipped channels in our tv for one month. By doing this whenever you surf your tv they will be skipped and not appear till you want them to resulting into automatic decrease in TRP of such channels.
