More than 75% hotels in Kullu and Manali are remaining unoccupied. In a season where these valleys are jam-packed with tourists, scare of floods is keeping tourists away now!

This is understandable. That is why in my thread, I had stressed help to local more than to tourists who had everything intact in their home.

This will be for some time only, until everything revives back. The way people are coming forward to help is commendable... But the sad part is that it was local people there only who took advantage of situation and looted people at the time of disaster.... so people will loose interest like that also...

True... the weather is still hampering rehabilitation procedures in Uttarakhand. But although Kullu Manali is not threatened by such weather, people are still not willing to go there because of what happened in Uttarakhand before tragedy struck and all the lies that government tried to cover up, including the weather forecasts that were ignored. So no one wants to take a chance elsewhere!

That is not the case, they are collecting stuff and money but due to weather conditions, it is difficult to reach those people with all the help. Yet there are organizations who are carrying out relief work in spite of difficult weather!

Don't know Kalyani, but still it feels somewhere that people are not getting help on time. Weather may be a big hurdle but some do use it as a veil to hide their cheats...
