The Supreme Court has criticized Union Government for litigation on trivial matters like an employee's increment. The Union Govt. litigated at different forums and ultimately appealed in apex court for lower court decision favoring an employee. There was a dispute of one day only regarding due date of increment.
The apex court ridiculed the Union govt. for ignoring major issue like Delhi High court Decision on Homosexual relations. The Delhi High court has partially modified Section 377 of Indian Penal code for excluding consensual homo relations. The Government has contested the modification of Section 377 I.P.C. in Delhi High court but chose not to file an appeal in Supreme court.
