How could a century old lullaby that every Malayali treasures be translated to Tamil and send for Oscar Nominations?
The original was written by Irayimman Thampi a century back for Swathi Thirunal of Travancore. Not only his mother but every mother used to make her kid sleep listening to this lovely song. Even after years, it has not lost its glory and still it's the best lullaby in Malayalam literature.

This matter is under investigation. Its to be noted that Lullabies are public properties and there is no copyright for them. Our famous lullabies written by Annamacharya were rewritten by several authors in cinema field. At that time the copyright authorities decided that those old lullabies don't have any copyright restrictions.

Today I read in newspapers.....the idea of taking that popular song was decided 2 years back. They have got prrofs. A Tamil poem was also used in the movie, but given credits...not to this Malayalam lullaby. She wrote the lyrics, gave tunes and sang too. Then she send it for oscar nominations and was accepted
