Just a week to go before the Presidential elections in the USA and there is nature playing havoc in the name of Hurricane Sandy which has been lashing the Eastern coast of America.Apparently NewYork has been without power and absolutely shut down since yesterday and will continue to remain s even today..

    No doubt about that, but what is happening there is scary, as I watch the news I see that there is devastation everywhere with 12 already dead , a couple of blasts in the power plants . i think they were not prepared for such a scale of damage and imapact. I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying ...

    Blasts in nuclear plants as well?
    Most recently we have seen such incidents in Japan. Really unfortunate

    There is no way of knowing what is happening there since even the news reporters cannot be out in the streets, they would be blasted away since the winds are so very strong, but they reported and showed the pictures of blasts far away :(

    This is really very unfortunate and they declared two days leave.Natural calamity takes many innocent life.

    Yes 80 mph is the speed of the sandy which has entered the inland. Many people are affected. Abnormal power cut in supply of electricity and flood are the consequences of such natural calamity. Many are dead.

    It is indeed far more serious than what was expected and inspite of having all kinds of emergency measures in place they are still finding it difficult to cope with the situation...for me the greatest worry has been my son who lives in Manhattan, but thankfully he was away at Hawai on work and couldn't come back since flights were cancelled yesterday..
