In my state Rajasthan also banned Gutka before few months but it still available. After banned shopkeeper is charging double price for it. Indeed government is not honest to enforce this law. :(

Yes officially it is banned but still many people are selling it not openly. I think it takes time for people too to change when some new law is passed similarly it looks it will take time to follow it. :)

Pan Masala, Gutkha are treated as 'food products'. Gutkha is a mixture of 'food' and 'tobacco'. This has been banned in fourteen states. Cigarettes and Bidis are not food products but pure tobacco products. So, these are different and not banned.

The Delhi Government has decided to completely ban the selling, distribution and transportation of tobacco containing Gutka products in the Capital. Gutka has been related to the cause of many diseases including mouth and throat cancer besides insomnia and hypertension. We welcome the step taken by the Government and hope that it comes into effect very soon.

I welcome the move. But i would like to know how effectively it's going to be implemented.. Because we are well known for introducing a law and forgetting about it very next day.

I agree that ban is good move by government but the think is people take it secretly even after the ban.. Completely we cannt ensure. :)
