The advertisement should be informative and state salient feature of the products distinguishing it from others without naming the rivals.

The same thing happened some months ago with Horlicks and Complan and both of them started publishing rival ads like this...
This is not a good sign for the Indian ad industry..Ads should be creative and small without any nonsense like this...

This is a bad idea. Ofcourse they are competitors. But they should not show rival companies in their ads.
They should show how they better in the ad. That's it. Government should take care of this all incidents.

The way advertisers are indulging in rivalry, it appears they have no morality. I think consumers cannot rely on the advertisements in any manner. we have to purchase articles on our own judgment and experience without believing in the advertisements.

I think this kind of advertisement presumes that the people targeted are all bereft of all intelligence and would fail to see through their game. We have several precedents in cases like Hindustan Lever Vs. Colgate Palmolive, Tata Press Vs. MTNL and even the apex court of the country has pronounced its verdict on a case. But the fact remains that those who are behind this game are fully aware of the legal implications and know it jolly well that legally it may not be possible to prove the contention. Leaving the legal aspect, the ethical one has far more potential for damage. Already we hear notes of unhappiness on the part of Rin brand loyalist and they are just disgusted!
