The proposal to enact Sikh Marriage Act has been turned down by the center. The Sikhs are governed by Hindu law as constitution like Budhists and Jains.

In view of identity of property, inheritance and customs related to marriage, there appears no need for separate sikh personal law.

Well i think it is good decision and separate law is not need in diverse country like India.
