Defections weaken the political system. The parliamentary system is basically party system. People send their representatives to parliament and state assemblies assemblies as party representatives on party symbol. These elected MPs and MLA break trust of people and slaughter democracy by opportunistically displaying their 'independence' and defying the party on whose ticket they were elected.

Jaitley has rightly questioned the apex court decision setting aside speaker's decision to disqualify the dissident BJP members of Karnataka assembly.

I too feel that once they are elected representing a certain party they should not be allowed to leave the party/take back their support, at least for that period of time..The way the MPs and MLAs manipulate the people and the nation without any care and responsibility is shameful !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

This is very shameful activity that you leave your party due to the influence of other after selected for a certain post by your part.........Be there and serve your party.......It make our nation strong.......... :side: :side: :side: :side: :side:
Absolutely,it's the need of the hour! We need a very strong anti-defection law to deal with venal politicians.
I think Karnataka after the BJP came into power has seen every kind of blackmail and low level behavior by the politicians. When BJP was voted into power people were hoping that they would perform better after having seen the indifferent performance of the previous ,mostly Congress governments. But BJP under Yediurappa was probably the worst ever and look at the way he still blackmails and gets what he wants.Sadananda Gowda was clean and an honest person , only fault was that he was more interested in taking care of the state affairs than do what Yediurappa wanted..
If there was a strong anti defection law many of these things would never happen..

This is allover the country, these elected members have no respect for their party when it comes to personal games. That is very obvious from the past incidents that they take money for cross voting.
