Voting opportunities to NRIs in poll-bound states with a rider
NRIs hailing from the five poll-bound states will be able to vote in the elections for the first time but they will have to be physically present in their place of origin to exercise their franchise.
The rider is not peculiar to NRIs. Even resident Indians have to be physically present to vote. The facility of postal ballot is only for defence employees and those on polling duty.
